One of the best places to hike is the Siklish hike in the Kasski District. Trekkers can learn about Nepal’s natural beauty and culture on this trip. The Gurung settlement of Siklish is located southeast of Pokhara, in the foothills of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. Trekking through the Siklish village offers the chance to see beautiful mountain views and gain knowledge of Gurung culture and customs. This is a breathtaking short hike that passes through a thick rhododendron forest and Gurung Village. The Gurung Village in Siklish and the breathtaking vistas of numerous peaks, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Lamjung, Nilgiri, Tukuche, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli, are the main draws of this walk.
The stunning city of Pokhara is where the trek begins. We start our journey at Bijayapur khola and climb through Kalikasthan and Lama Khet to Siklish. We can experience the local way of life, customs, and culture while visiting these villages and can enjoy cosy homestay accommodations and delectable local cuisine. We also like watching the Gurung community in the area perform culturally. We travel through Neuli Kharka Village, Ghale Gaun Village, Kharpani Village, and Milanchowk on our way back to Pokhara after touring Siklesh Village. Another well-known village on this trip is Ghale Gaun, where we spend the night.
Our personnel will greet you and arrange you a transfer to your accommodation. Upon arrival, the program will be explained by our airport representative.
We take tours of the world-heritage sites Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Bouddhanath Stupa. The ancient royals’ way of life is illuminated by Durbar Square. For all Hindus, the Pashupatinath temple is one of the most significant sites of pilgrimage. One of the biggest stupas in the world is Bouddhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath is also referred to as the Monkey Temple. At the Kantipur Holidays office, we are introduced to our fellow travelers and have a discussion about our trip at lunchtime.
After breakfast, we head to Pokhara, which is sometimes referred to as The Lake City because of its abundance of lakes. We are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Himalayas as we arrive in Pokhara, featuring the five peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri (8,167m/26,794ft), Manaslu (8,156m/26,759ft), and Machhapuchhre (6,993m/22,943ft). After that, we settle into our hotel and relax. We like to take walks throughout the charming streets of the city and go boating in Fewa Lake.
We start our journey to Kalikasthan today by driving to Bijayapur. We travel past the stunning, level rice fields close to the Army Camp before climbing up to Chautara via Rakhigaon. Walking up to the peak, we will see views of Begnas Lake and the massif views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Mt. Annapurna I, Machhapurchre, Gangapurna, Mt. Manaslu, Ngadi Chuli, Himal Chuli, and many other mountains. Our ascent continues uphill past Chautara to villages inhabited mostly by Brahmins, who make up one of the largest castes in Nepal, and Chhetris. The path leads into Kalikasthan. The expansive vista of Pokhara city is delightful, and the views of the mountains to the north are just as captivating.
Following breakfast, we set out on our hike to Lamakhet, following the route that leads via mixed-ethnic local settlements and rice terraces all the way to Mardi Khola. We are walking along the riverbed now, and the hike is easy. To go to Lamakhet, pass through Bhaise and Nawaldanda on the way. We spend the night in a tiny village that is encircled by verdant hills, which thrills us.
After ascending in the direction of Sikles, the trail continues flatly along the riverbank and through lovely rhododendron forests until it reaches Khilan Gaon. tracing the path for several hours, going up steeply at first and then pleasantly. We cross the village of Parju en route. Up till we reach Sikles village, the trail climbs once again. Mostly established by the Indian and British Army, Sikles village is one of the biggest Gurung settlements in Nepal.
There will be a lot of interesting things going on in Siklesh. The Gurung people of Sikles perform folk music and dances. We are fascinated by the Gurung people’s traditional lifestyles, their traditional methods of crafting handicrafts, weaving cloth, and operating their traditional water-current-powered flour mills. In addition to the vibrant culture and customs of the locals, we are treated to breathtaking vistas of the surrounding rhododendron forest in Sikles and mountains such as Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Manaslu.
Following breakfast in Sikles village, we hike to Forest Camp, also known as Nyauli Kharka. Our trail follows the gentle slope through lovely forests of pine, oak, and rhododendron trees. After traveling a short way, we arrive at a level area encircled by woods.
The trail passes through a lovely oak and rhododendron woodland as it descends towards Ghale Goan. We will be in awe of the expansive vistas of the numerous Himalayas, including the summit of Machhapuchare on the west, the Lamjung Himal and Annapurna on the north, and Bouddha Himal, Himalchuli, and Manaslu on the east. Today’s trial basically goes south. We will eventually arrive in Ghale Gaon, a well-liked mid-hill homestay tourist resort, after a few descents. Situated in the Annapurna range’s foothills, it is a typical Gurung settlement. There are lots of lush grasses and pastures in the region. Upon our arrival at Ghale Gaon, we are graciously hosted by the Gurung family, who are descendants of the illustrious Gurkha Warriors.
Treks down to Besisahar after breakfast. We pass via Lama Gaon and a lush jungle along the way. The route to Besisahar goes through thick forests. After lunch at Khudi, we’ll begin our stroll along the Marsyangdi River. The starting point of the most well-known trip, the Annapurna Circuit, is Besisahar. Its climate is subtropical, and its forests are deciduous.
While driving down the Prithvi Highway, we enjoy ourselves immensely as we pass through rural landscapes that are characterized by rushing rivers and rich flora. The travel back to Kathmandu takes almost six hours. Once there, you will be transferred to the hotel by our agent. You can either spend the remainder of the day lounging or shopping for presents and mementos.
You will be dropped off at the airport for your departure around three hours prior to your scheduled flight.
