The most well-known hill station on Kathmandu’s eastern edge is Nagarkot. At an elevation of 2170 meters, it is only 32 kilometers from Kathmandu and can be reached in two hours by car. The road passes fields used for potato, rice, and paddy harvesting. Our intention is to trek up to Nagarkot and spend the sunset there before returning to Kathmandu.
We travel to Sankhu after breakfast, which should take approximately one hour. We climb for almost four hours to get to Nagarkot from there.
