Khaptad Trek

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu1400m/4594ft.

Our personnel will greet you and take you to your accommodation. When you arrive, our airport representative will go over the program with you.

Day 2 : Fly from Kathmandu to Dhangadi, drive to Buditola 198m/650ft.

The first leg of our vacation begins with a scenic one-hour flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. We travel from Nepalgunj to Buditola along the Karnali River, passing through charming towns with rich greenery and stunning scenery. We drive from Nepalgunj to Buditola, where we spend the night after around four hours.

Day 3 : Drive Buditola to Silgadhi 1330m/4364ft.

We travel to Silgadhi, the renowned city and the most picturesque location in the western area, after breakfast. It takes roughly six hours to get there by car.

Day 4 : Trek to Jhigrana 2300m/7644ft.

We set out early in the morning on our trip from Baglek (2160m) to Jhigrana via Silgadhi. We hike for around three and a half hours to reach Baglek after breakfast, where we halt for lunch. The hike continues to Jhigranad after lunch, taking around three and a half hours to reach our target for the day.

Day 5 : Trek to Bukipani 3080m/10105ft.

We hike for four hours more from Jhigrana to Bukipani Dharmasala (3020m). After lunch, we go for another two and a half hours to Bukipani, where we spend the night.

Day 6 : Trek to Khaptad 3010m/9875ft.

This is the easiest and shortest day of our walk. After breakfast we climb for two hours to reach the best spot in the area, Khaptad. After arriving, we have lunch at Khaptad Baba’s Ashram (hut) and tour Triveni. Not only was Khaptad Baba a brilliant herbal medicine discoverer, but he was also a prolific writer and philosopher. The people in the area view him as a god.

Day 7 : Free day at Khaptad.

Today, we visit Khaptad National Park. We visit the Khaptad Danda, Patan, the museum, and the Khatad tower for a fantastic overview of the surrounding area. The remarkable ecology of the Khaptad National Park, which was created in 1984, is home to a vast array of flora, from temperate forests on the Khaptad plateau to subtropical forests at lower elevations. Approximately 260 bird species, 500 distinct types of herbs, 224 species of medicinal herbs, 11{1cd4a8022c9bd7d917a249afe2aa55478b78a29937507b4f3a5c8b7b77a36d92} of Nepal’s flowering plants, and a vast array of other flora and animals may all be found at Khaptad National Park.

Day 8 : Trek back to Jhigrana

We use the same trail that we traveled to go back to Jhigrana today. From Khaptad, we hike for around four hours to Bichpani and then on to Jhigrana.

Day 9 : Drive to Dhangadhi 109m/358ft.

After breakfast, we head off early in the morning to drive to Dhangadhi. It is the district headquarters for Kailali and is situated near the border between India and Nepal.

Day 10 : Fly Back to Kathmandu

We bid farewell to western Nepal and catch a flight to Kathmandu early today. For a last time, the flight offers breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas. Once we get to Kathmandu, we have time to spend alone exploring.

Day 11 : Final Departure

Our amazing journey in western Nepal, which included the Khaptad trek, comes to an end today. Three hours prior to your planned departure, a company representative will come to your hotel to pick you up and take you to the airport.
