Trip Preparation

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu1400m/4594ft.

A representative from Kantipur Holidays will meet us at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu and transfer us to our designated hotel. We might rest after checking in or go to the Mission Nepal office. A welcome dinner with authentic Nepali food and a quick cultural presentation will be held in a typical Nepalese restaurant in the evening.

Day 2 : Fly to Pokhara; drive to Kimche & trek to Ghandruk 1940m/6365ft.

We fly to Pokhara early in the morning from Kathmandu. The route from Pokhara to Kimche takes one on a picturesque drive through the Annapurna region’s valleys and hills. The road is primarily paved, but there are some uneven spots, particularly during the rainy season. The trip takes two to three hours. From Kimche, we set out on our trip to Ghandruk.

It takes three to four hours to hike the nine kilometers (or five miles) from Kimche to Ghandruk. The vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys make the difficult ascent at the beginning of the trek worthwhile. You’ll go through little towns and cross the Modi River on a number of suspension bridges.

The trail levels out as you get closer to Ghandruk, and you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the Annapurna range, which includes Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South. The village of Ghandruk itself is charming, with old stone homes and winding lanes.

Day 3 : Ghandruk to Chhomrong 2170m/7120ft.

Starting in Ghandruk, the trail descends to the Modi Khola (River) over a set of stone stairs. After traversing a suspension bridge across the river, you’ll begin your climb up to the town of Kimrong Khola. Although the climb is difficult, the views of the surrounding mountains and valley are breathtaking.

The trail becomes less steep after Kimrong Khola, and you’ll pass through a bamboo and rhododendron forest. You can pause for a rest and a cup of tea at any of the various little communities you’ll pass along the route. After there, the trail descends to a suspension bridge and the Chhomrong Khola River.

After crossing the bridge, you’ll climb up a steep set of stone steps to reach the village of Chhomrong. Chhomrong is a charming village with traditional stone houses and narrow alleys. It’s also the last village on the trek where you can stock up on supplies.

Day 4 : Chhomrong to Bamboo 2310m/7579ft.

To cross the Chhomrong Khola River, the trail from Chhomrong to Bamboo begins with a precipitous drop down a set of stone stairs. The trail climbs sharply once again after crossing the river to arrive at Sinuwa, a tiny village with a few lodges and tea houses.

The trail continues past Sinuwa through a bamboo and rhododendron forest, with sporadic openings offering views of the neighboring mountains. You will arrive to the village of Bamboo, which is located on the banks of the Modi Khola River, after around two hours of hiking.

There are a few tea houses and guesthouses in the little village of Bamboo. Trekkers who are en route to Annapurna Base Camp frequently spend the night there, while those who are coming down from higher elevations use it as a place to relax. There is a lot of bamboo along the route, and the village gets its name from the surrounding bamboo forest. Trekkers can enjoy breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South, two of the nearby ranges.

Day 5 : Bamboo to Deurali 3230m/10598ft.

The hike from Bamboo to Deurali begins with a strenuous climb through a rhododendron and bamboo forest. You will arrive at the tiny village of Dovan, which is perched on the banks of the Modi Khola River, after roughly an hour of hiking. Trekkers who are traveling to Annapurna Base Camp frequently stop in Dovan for rest stops.

The trail climbs sharply into the woodland after Dovan. Many clearings along the way offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Hiunchuli. Following around two hours of hiking, you will arrive at the 2,920-meter-high Himalaya settlement.

After climbing through the jungle for around an hour from Himalaya, you’ll arrive in Deurali. Situated at an elevation of 3,230 meters, Deurali is the final village that trekkers visit before arriving at Machhapuchhre Base Camp.

Trekkers can rest and spend the night at a few lodges and tea houses in Deurali. The settlement is encircled by thick trees, and the mountain views are spectacular.

Day 6 : Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp 4130m/13551ft.

The trail gradually ascends through the forest from Deurali, passing through a number of clearings that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. You will arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), 3,700 meters above sea level, after about an hour of hiking.

Trekkers often take a break at Machhapuchhre Base Camp en route to Annapurna Base Camp. It takes its name from the holy peak Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail, which is visible from the base camp. Beautiful views of Hiunchuli and Annapurna South, as well as the surrounding mountains, are available.

The trail climbs sharply from MBC via a rocky, desolate area. There are other clearings along the way that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, which include Annapurna I, II, III, and IV. You will arrive at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), which is located at an elevation of 4,130 meters, after around two hours of hiking.

The breathtaking and secluded Annapurna Base Camp provides expansive views of the Annapurna Mountain range. With towering peaks all around, the base camp will give you the impression that you are in the middle of the Himalayas.

Trekkers can rest and spend the night at a number of lodges and tea houses at Annapurna Base Camp. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the base camp’s amazing sunset and sunrise vistas.

Day 7 : Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo 2310m/7575ft

The trail descends through a stunning bamboo and rhododendron forest on its route from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo. The track follows the same route that we took to ascend before making a sharp descent. We travel through the Himalaya, Deurali, and Machhapuchhre Base Camp along the route.

Day 8 : Bamboo to Jhinu Danda 1780m/5840ft.

There is a rather simple descent through the forest and tiny villages on the walk from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda. After passing through Khuldighar and Chhomrong, the trail crosses a suspension bridge and climbs gently to Jhinu Danda, which is well-known for its natural hot springs, a great place to unwind after a strenuous day of hiking. The walk takes about five to six hours to finish and gives breathtaking views of the Alps.

Day 9 : Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, drive to Pokhara

The trail gradually descends through woodlands and tiny villages after Jhinu Danda. You will arrive at Nayapul after four to five hours of trekking. We will return to Pokhara in a private vehicle, traveling the Baglung-Pokhara highway for approximately one hour.

Day 10 : Fly back to Kathmandu

We will be taken to the domestic airport in Pokhara for a quick 25-minute flight to Kathmandu following breakfast at the hotel. You will be taken to your hotel in Kathmandu so you may unwind after arriving. You’ll have free time later in the afternoon to continue your own exploration. We shall celebrate your successful completion of the Annapurna Base Camp hike with a farewell supper in the evening.

Day 11 : Final Departure

This is the last day of your journey across Nepal! You can use your time to go through your images and exchange email information with other travelers. A Mission Nepal representative will accompany you to the airport around three hours before to your scheduled departure. You’ll have plenty of time on your hands when you get home to organize your next thrilling vacation to Nepal.
